Trip to London

In this text we will be telling you a bit about our trip to London.

On the first day we took the train from St. Margrethen to the airport in Zurich. We were supposed to fly at 4:30 p.m., but our flight got delayed, so we flew at 7:30 p.m. instead.

When we arrived at Gatwick Airport, we took the tram and then switched to the subway. On our way to our hotel, we stopped on Earls Court to eat dinner.

On the second day we did a hop on hop off bus tour and went to Westminster where we saw the famous Big Ben, the Westminster Abbey, and the London Eye. We also visited the Buckingham Palace, where we watched the changing of the guards. We finished our tour at the Tower of London. From there we went on the famous Tower Bridge where we had a beautiful view on the river Thames. Afterwards we took a river cruise on the Thames from Tower Bridge to Big Ben where we saw the different bridges that go across the river, the Kensington University, and other interesting buildings. After that we went to Hyde Park. In the evening we went to Piccadilly Circus where we watched some street dancers and then we went to China Town where we took a lot of cool pictures.

On the next day we had a tour through the Chelsea football stadium which ended in their historic museum. It was great. After that we had lunch at a pub named Witherspoon where we ate the famous English fish and chips. Later that day we went to Camden Market where we did a bit of shopping and took lots of pictures.

The fourth day was fun, because we went to Madame Tussauds, which is a wax museum. There we got to see and take pictures with the wax figures of Queen Elisabeth the 2nd, Princes Diana, Christiano Ronaldo, The Rock and a bunch more famous people. Next, we went to London Dungeon, a creepy tourist attraction with different sets, which tell a frightening story of the English history. It was boring for some, but for others it was totally spine-chilling. Harrods was our next destination, where we walked around the huge shopping mall and looked at the different stores they had. On our way to the hotel, we made a quick stop in Hyde Park to calm down.

On day five (our last day) we took one last walk through London and visited some of the places we liked the most. We went to Buckingham Palace, walked through St. James Park, and checked out Westminster Abbey and Big Ben once again. Later that day we took a train to Stansted Airport where, with half an hour delay, we flew safely back to Memmingen, Germany, where our parents picked us up.

We really enjoyed our trip to London, and it was the perfect ending before leaving the MS Dornbirn Markt.
